Module Feature

SP5401 belongs to Unidrive SP universal high-performance AC inverter series manufactured by Emerson Control Techniques. Rated 55kW heavy duty,75kW normal duty. It supports V/F,open-loop vector,closed-loop flux vector,RFC rotor flux control,servo and four-quadrant regenerative control,compatible with induction motors and Unimotor FM permanent magnet servo motors. Equipped with multi-channel digital and analog I/O terminals,SM expansion slots for incremental encoder,SinCos,SSI,resolver and fieldbus communication modules. Built-in dynamic braking transistor and RS485 Modbus RTU interface. Widely used in winders,extruders,mixers,conveyors and heavy-duty factory automation equipment.

Working principle

Three-phase 50/60Hz AC mains power is rectified to DC bus. IGBT power stage outputs adjustable voltage and frequency AC to regulate motor torque and speed. Accepts analog,digital or fieldbus command; encoder feedback enables high-precision closed-loop speed and position control. Built-in dynamic braking circuit absorbs regenerative energy during rapid deceleration.

Installation

Follow ESD safety procedure before handling.Mount vertically and reserve sufficient ventilation gap.Separate power cables and signal cables to reduce EMI interference.Connect three-phase mains to L1/L2/L3 terminals and motor cable to U/V/W terminals.Complete motor auto-tune and parameter commissioning before operation.

Diagnostic

Over current:motor winding short circuit,cable damage or mechanical jam. Overheat:blocked heat sink or continuous overload. Encoder fault:loose wiring or encoder hardware damage.
