Module Feature

UNI1404 is Unidrive classic series universal AC drive manufactured by Control Techniques. This unit is fully tested and functional verified. It supports V/F control, open-loop vector, closed-loop vector and high-performance servo control, compatible with Unimotor series brushless servo motors and induction motors. Equipped with built-in digital and analog I/O terminals, optional expansion slots for encoder or fieldbus communication cards. Widely used in machine tools, packaging machinery, conveying systems and industrial automation motion equipment.

Working principle

Three-phase AC input is rectified to DC bus voltage. The IGBT power module converts DC into adjustable frequency and adjustable voltage AC output. The drive receives motion command from upper controller, compares command signal with encoder feedback signal, dynamically calculates output torque to realize closed-loop speed, torque or position control. Built-in brake transistor absorbs regenerative energy during motor deceleration.

Installation

Follow ESD safety procedure before handling. Mount vertically with enough ventilation space around heat sink. Connect three-phase main power, motor cable and encoder feedback cable. Use shielded control cables to reduce EMI interference. Power on and complete motor auto-tune before commissioning.

Diagnostic

Encoder loss fault: loose wiring or encoder hardware damage. Over current: motor short circuit, damaged cable or mechanical jamming. Overheat: clogged heat sink or continuous overload. Under voltage: unstable input power or phase loss.
