Control Techniques Unidrive SP2401 High Performance AC Drive Unit

Module Feature

SP2401 belongs to Unidrive SP series universal AC drive manufactured by Control Techniques. Rated 5.5kW heavy duty,7.5kW normal duty. It supports V/F, open-loop vector, closed-loop vector and RFC servo control, compatible with asynchronous induction motors and Unimotor FM permanent magnet servo motors. Equipped with SM option slots for encoder feedback, fieldbus communication and motion control modules. Built-in dynamic braking transistor, widely used in conveyors, winding machines, packaging equipment and general factory automation.

Working principle

Three-phase 50/60Hz AC mains is rectified to DC bus voltage. IGBT power module converts DC into adjustable voltage and frequency AC to regulate motor speed and torque. The drive accepts analog, digital or fieldbus command signals; encoder feedback enables high-precision closed-loop speed and position control. Built-in braking circuit absorbs regenerative energy during motor deceleration.

Installation

Follow ESD safety procedure before handling.Mount vertically and reserve sufficient ventilation gap.Connect three-phase mains to L1/L2/L3 terminals and motor cable to U/V/W terminals.Use shielded cable for encoder and control I/O wiring to reduce EMI interference.Complete motor auto-tune before commissioning.

Diagnostic
