Products Description
Moog 744F004 Hydraulic Servo Valve Unit

Module Feature
744F004 is Moog classic two‑stage electro‑hydraulic servo valve belonging to 744 series, specially designed for high‑precision closed‑loop hydraulic control applications including aeroderivative gas turbine fuel regulation.
It adopts torque motor driven first‑stage nozzle‑flapper amplifier and second‑stage spool valve structure. Single coil configuration, coil impedance 22Ω, rated drive current 96mA. It features fast dynamic response, low hysteresis and repeatability, suitable for continuous high‑pressure hydraulic oil working condition. Internal leakage is controlled at low level. It is the core control component for turbine fuel actuator, material test machine and high‑speed simulation test bench.
Working principle
The analog control current signal sent by controller acts on the torque motor, generating torque to deflect the flapper and change nozzle back pressure difference.
The differential pressure pushes the main spool to shift, opening the valve port and outputting hydraulic flow proportional to the input signal. Internal mechanical feedback returns spool position to balance flapper torque, forming closed‑loop flow regulation. Hydraulic flow drives actuator to adjust fuel valve or mechanical position.
Onboard components
Torque motor assembly, nozzle flapper hydraulic amplifier, main spool and sleeve, feedback spring, filter screen inside valve inlet, electrical connector, valve body manifold port.
LED indicators
No built‑in indicator lamp; working status and fault judgment rely on external drive controller signal monitoring.
Hardware self‑diagnosis
No on‑board electronic diagnosis. Fault detection depends on external control system monitoring of actuator position deviation, pressure difference and drive current abnormal fluctuation.
Programming software
Not applicable for the valve itself; matched servo controller software is used for signal calibration, loop tuning and limit setting.

Installation
Mount the servo valve onto precision hydraulic manifold with torque specified in datasheet. Install high‑pressure filter upstream of valve inlet to prevent contamination damage.
Connect control signal shielded cable to electrical connector, separate power cable and signal cable to reduce interference. Before commissioning, flush the hydraulic loop thoroughly. Regular oil cleanliness inspection is required.
Interface
Hydraulic P/T/A/B manifold ports, multi‑pin electrical signal connector.
Diagnostic
Slow response or no flow: Internal filter blocked, torque motor coil open circuit or nozzle flapper blocked by dirt.
Flow drift / zero shift: Oil pollution, temperature change or zero point drift needing recalibration.
Hysteresis too large: Contamination stuck spool, feedback spring fatigue damage.
