Module Feature

140DM16A belongs to Reliance Electric Master XL series helical speed reducer. It adopts precision helical gear transmission structure to reduce output speed and increase output torque. Heavy duty cast iron housing, pre-lubricated sealed bearing assembly, stable shock load resistance. Foot mounting configuration, compatible with standard NEMA motor frames. Widely applied for conveyors, mixers, packaging machinery and general industrial drive systems.

Working principle

Motor high-speed input drives primary helical gear set, multi-stage gear meshing reduces rotational speed step by step while multiplying output torque. Gear tooth profile distributes load evenly to lower vibration and noise. Power transfers to driven equipment through output shaft. Internal oil bath lubrication continuously lubricates gear and bearing surfaces during operation.

LED indicators

No onboard LED indicators. Operating condition is judged by noise, vibration level and temperature measurement.

Monitor housing operating temperature, inspect abnormal vibration and noise, check oil leakage at shaft seals, verify lubricant oil quality and oil level.

No configuration software, fixed gear ratio, mechanical transmission without electronic adjustment.

Installation

Align motor and reducer input shaft before coupling connection. Secure reducer foot base firmly to rigid support. Fill gearbox with specified grade lubricant to correct oil level. Run test at no load first, then apply rated load gradually.

Interface

Input shaft for motor coupling, output shaft for driven load connection, oil filler port, oil drain port, oil level sight port.

Diagnostic

Overheating: insufficient lubricant, wrong oil viscosity or overloaded operation. Abnormal noise: gear tooth damage, bearing failure or misalignment. Oil leakage: worn shaft oil seal or loose plug thread. Vibration overload: coupling misalignment or unbalanced load.
