System compatibilityBW027-006 is SEW BW series external braking resistor. Compatible with MOVIDRIVE MD60A, MDX61B servo drives, MOVITRAC B inverters and BTS brake chopper modules. Widely used for small conveyor, packaging and material handling machinery, used for legacy SEW drive system maintenance and spare replacement.

FunctionThis compact wire-wound braking resistor consumes regenerative energy generated by motor deceleration. When DC bus voltage rises, the brake chopper activates and releases excess energy through this resistor to suppress overvoltage fault. Terminal block for DC bus wiring, needs external thermal protection relay.

InstallationPower off the drive DC bus before installation. Mount BW027-006 vertically in control cabinet, keep sufficient air circulation. Separate high voltage braking cables and low voltage control wiring. Connect resistor terminals to brake chopper or drive brake terminals. Configure external thermal protection relay for overheat protection. Test braking function after wiring.
