Control Techniques SP5402 Unidrive SP Universal Drive Unit

Module Feature

SP5402 belongs to Unidrive SP series universal AC drive manufactured by Control Techniques. It supports V/F, open-loop vector, closed-loop vector and high performance servo control, compatible with asynchronous motors and Unimotor FM servo motors. It has 3 expansion slots for SM option cards for encoder feedback, fieldbus communication and built-in motion control. Widely applied in printing machinery,winders,metal cutting,packaging and heavy-duty automation systems.

Working principle

Three-phase AC input is rectified to DC bus. IGBT power module converts DC to adjustable frequency and voltage AC output. It receives command signals from upper controller and compares with motor encoder feedback to realize closed-loop torque, speed or position regulation. Built-in brake transistor absorbs regenerative energy during motor deceleration.

Installation

Follow ESD safety procedure before handling.Mount vertically in control cabinet and reserve sufficient ventilation space.Connect three-phase mains power to L1/L2/L3 terminals and motor cable to U/V/W terminals. Use shielded cable for encoder and control I/O wiring to reduce EMI interference. Power on and complete motor auto-tune before commissioning.

Diagnostic
