Emerson Rosemount X-STREAM Gas Analyzer Unit

Module Feature

X-STREAM is the modular continuous gas analysis platform from Emerson Rosemount Analytical.

It supports up to five gas components measured simultaneously, with multiple optional measurement principles including NDIR infrared, UV/visible photometry, paramagnetic oxygen, thermal conductivity and electrochemical sensors. It adopts IntrinzX optical technology to improve long-term stability and reduce calibration frequency. It has multiple housing variants: XEGP rack general-purpose type, XEXF field wall-mount type and XEFD flameproof hazardous-area type, widely used for boiler combustion monitoring, petrochemical process, flue gas emission monitoring and gas plant analysis cabinets.

Working principle

The built-in optical cell and sensing unit absorb specific wavelength light corresponding to target gas.

The microprocessor calculates gas concentration based on light attenuation or paramagnetic characteristics. It records measurement data, calibration logs and fault events, supports web page access, Modbus and digital signal upload to upper DCS/SCADA control system.

Onboard components

Optical photometry module, sensor sampling cell, main processing board, local LCD HMI, sample flow control unit, signal isolation circuit, power supply module.

LED indicators

Front LEDs display power status, measurement running state, calibration progress and fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Continuous self-check detects sample flow loss, optical contamination, sensor failure, internal temperature anomaly and communication interruption, alarm messages display on local screen and web interface.

Programming software

Emerson Rosemount Analytical Configuration Tool, used for gas channel setup, calibration, alarm threshold configuration and data log export.

Installation

Install analyzer inside cabinet or field wall bracket, connect sample gas pipeline, drain and calibration gas circuit.

Set gas component parameters and perform zero/span calibration, verify sample flow and output signal before commissioning.

Interface

Sample gas inlet/outlet, 4-20mA analog terminals, digital I/O, Ethernet communication port.

Diagnostic

Measurement drift: Dirty optical cell, contaminated sample filter or expired calibration gas.

Flow fault: Blocked sample line, damaged sampling pump.

Communication offline: Disconnected network cable or wrong IP address.
