Module Feature

Fisher R3580XRS012 is original 83L pneumatic relay assembly for Fisher 3582 force-balance pneumatic valve positioner. It amplifies small nozzle-flapper signal into high-volume pneumatic output pressure to drive diaphragm actuator. Nitrile elastomer diaphragm with stable pneumatic amplification performance. This part is discontinued, mainly used for maintenance and retrofit of existing 3582 positioner installed in chemical, power and oil & gas plant.

Function

R3580XRS012 is core pneumatic relay manufactured by Fisher. It is the power amplification unit of 3582 positioner. The tiny pressure change from nozzle-flapper is amplified to large volume air output to quickly change actuator air chamber pressure, improve positioner response speed and output thrust. Damaged diaphragm or internal seat wear will lead to slow response, valve oscillation and air leakage. It is critical spare part for 3582 positioner overhaul.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off instrument air supply and release residual pressure. Disassemble 3582 positioner housing, replace old relay assembly. Align air passages and install sealing gaskets properly. Reassemble positioner, perform zero/span calibration, air tightness and full stroke test.

Interface

Pneumatic signal inlet from nozzle-flapper, amplified air outlet to actuator, bolt mounted inside positioner housing, no LED indicators on R3580XRS012.

Diagnostic

Slow valve response: Relay diaphragm fatigue or internal blockage. Valve oscillation: Relay seat wear and unstable pneumatic amplification. Continuous air venting: Diaphragm rupture or gasket leakage. Poor positioning accuracy: Relay internal component wear.
