Function

SR8-2SPS4 is sanitary backpressure regulator manufactured by Fisher. It monitors upstream pipeline pressure and automatically adjusts valve opening to keep backpressure stable. Self-draining design prevents medium residue, meets CIP/SIP cleaning requirement. Damaged diaphragm or scratched seat will cause pressure drifting and internal leakage. It is used to protect sanitary process equipment and maintain stable pipeline backpressure.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Isolate pipeline and release residual medium pressure. Mount SR8-2SPS4 via Tri-Clamp sanitary fittings, follow flow direction marked on valve body. Keep spring housing upright for self-draining. Set target backpressure by adjusting top spring knob. Perform pressure holding test and leakage inspection.

Tri-Clamp sanitary clamp connection for pipeline, spring adjuster on top housing, no LED indicators on SR8-2SPS4.

Diagnostic

Backpressure unstable: Diaphragm fatigue or seat contamination. Cannot maintain set pressure: Seat surface scratch or erosion. Medium external leakage: Tri-clamp gasket damage or loose clamp.
