FunctionDSA-015-230-S is Centurion SERCOS servo drive manufactured by Giddings & Lewis. It receives motion instructions from PiC900 CNC controller over SERCOS fiber ring. The drive outputs three-phase variable frequency AC power to brushless servo motor and reads encoder position feedback to close the control loop. Built-in multi-level protection prevents damage from overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating. It is the axis power amplifier for legacy heavy G&L CNC machine tools.

InstallationFollow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Disconnect main three-phase power and 24V control supply. Mount DSA-015-230-S in electrical cabinet. Connect 230V three-phase main power, motor power cable, encoder feedback cable and SERCOS fiber cable. Configure motor parameters in PiCPro software. Power on and verify SERCOS connection, then perform axis homing and motion test.
