T8448 belongs to ICS TRIPLEX Trusted SIS safety instrumented system and installs inside T8300 or T8314 expander rack. It acts as zone interface between field safety devices and TMR controller,handles large quantity of 24V discrete DI/DO signals from safety switches,relay contacts and field actuators. Triplicated validated data is transmitted to expander processor. Widely deployed in oil & gas,petrochemical and chemical plants for ESD emergency shutdown and fire & gas safety protection.

Function

T8448 serves as high integrity 40-channel zone interface unit of Trusted TMR SIS. It processes mixed digital input and output signals and adopts TMR 2oo3 hardware voting logic to judge signal status. It supports 1ms high precision SOE sequence of events recording for incident trace analysis. Each channel continuously monitors open circuit,short circuit and overload faults. It supports hot swap replacement without shutting down the safety expansion rack.

Installation

Insert T8448 vertically into dedicated I/O slot of T8300/T8314 expander chassis. Wire field safety device cables to terminal assembly. Check channel status and SOE event logs via Trusted Workbench engineering software.
