T8449C belongs to ICS TRIPLEX Trusted SIS safety instrumented system and installs inside T8300 or T8314 expander rack. It collects valve position feedback signals from field safety shutdown valves,transmits triplicated validated status data to expander processor to judge valve actual position. Conformal coating protects PCB circuits from moisture and chemical vapour,suitable for offshore and heavy industrial safety applications. Widely deployed in oil & gas,petrochemical and chemical plants for ESD emergency shutdown and fire & gas safety protection.

Function

T8449C serves as high integrity valve position monitoring unit of Trusted TMR SIS. It samples 24VDC valve feedback signals and adopts TMR 2oo3 hardware voting logic to judge real valve open or closed status. Each channel continuously monitors valve loop health,open circuit and short circuit wiring faults. It supports hot swap replacement without shutting down the safety expansion rack.

Installation

Insert T8449C vertically into dedicated I/O slot of T8300/T8314 expander chassis. Connect field valve feedback wiring to terminal assembly. Verify valve status and fault alarms via Trusted Workbench engineering software.
