Module Feature

A155C3D0R0-150E belongs to Mersen Amp-Trap CL-14 series medium voltage current limiting fuse. It is Class E rated ferrule type fuse with built-in visual blow indicator. The fuse element is specially designed to withstand transformer inrush current, provides reliable short circuit and overload protection for 12kV~15.5kV distribution transformers and switchgear circuits. It adopts poly fiber tube body, high interrupt capacity up to 50kA. It is installed by spring reinforced clip holder, easy for field inspection and replacement. Widely used in power distribution cabinet, substation transformer protection and industrial medium voltage power system.

Working principle

Under normal load condition, the fuse element remains conductive. When overload or short-circuit fault occurs, internal fuse element melts rapidly and generates arc. The quartz sand filler quenches the arc and cuts off fault current within extremely short time. The visual indicator pops out after fuse blow, so maintenance staff can quickly identify failed fuse without power test instrument.

Installation

Cut off medium voltage power and confirm zero energy state before operation. Install Mersen A155C3D0R0-150E fuse into matched spring clip holder. Check indicator position and secure connection. Close cabinet and complete power recovery after insulation test.

Diagnostic

Indicator popped: fuse blown due to overload or short circuit. Intermittent heating: loose ferrule contact. Insulation failure: fuse barrel surface contamination or damage.
