SIEB & MEYER 43.01.05.2 Power Supply Module

Module Feature

SIEB & MEYER 43.01.05.2 is rack plug-in power supply module for servo rack system. It converts AC mains input to regulated high-voltage DC bus to supply all rack servo power modules. It includes rectifier circuit, energy storage capacitor bank, brake chopper circuit and multi-level fault detection. Built-in overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature protection. Compact rack plug-in design with excellent EMC performance. Widely used in CNC machine tools, semiconductor processing equipment and multi-axis automation production lines.

Working principle

AC input power passes through EMI filter and rectifier bridge to become DC voltage. Capacitor bank stabilizes DC bus. The internal brake chopper absorbs regenerative energy returned from servo motors during deceleration, preventing DC bus overvoltage. It continuously monitors input voltage, bus voltage and internal temperature. When abnormal condition occurs, it cuts output and sends fault signal to rack backplane.

Onboard components

EMI filter, rectifier bridge, DC-link capacitor bank, brake chopper IGBT, current & voltage sampling sensors, temperature detector, power terminal block, gold finger backplane connector, LED status array.

LED indicators

Front panel LED indicators for mains power, DC bus ready, module status and fault code display.

Hardware self-diagnosis

Visual inspection of module housing, power terminals and backplane gold fingers; input & DC bus voltage measurement; capacitor inspection; check cooling fan and heat sink for dust accumulation; read LED fault codes.

Programming software

SIEB & MEYER commissioning software for power supply parameter configuration and fault log reading.

Function

43.01.05.2 power supply module manufactured by SIEB & MEYER. It provides stable DC bus power to all servo power modules inside rack, and absorbs motor regenerative energy. Input failure, overheating, capacitor aging or short circuit will trigger protection and shut down DC bus output. It is central power source of SIEB & MEYER rack servo system.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off all mains power completely. Insert module into designated rack slot and lock handle securely, confirm reliable backplane contact. Wire AC input, ground terminal. Configure power supply parameters via SIEB & MEYER commissioning software, verify DC bus output before powering up servo axes.

Diagnostic

No power LED: Missing AC input, blown input fuse or wiring fault. DC bus not ready: Pre-charge failure, defective DC capacitor or internal hardware fault. Overvoltage alarm: Excessive motor regeneration or faulty brake resistor. Undervoltage alarm: AC input loss, poor input contact or overload. Overheat alarm: Fan failure, clogged heat sink or high ambient temperature.
