Module Feature

6SL3352-1AE32-1AA1 is a replaceable power block for Siemens SINAMICS S120 single motor module. It serves as the power stage part for corresponding S120 motor modules, rated output current 110A, suitable for 3AC 380~480V grid environment. Adopts forced air cooling structure, IP00 open frame design. It contains IGBT power assembly, current sampling circuit and temperature monitoring circuit. This spare power block can be quickly swapped on site without replacing the whole motor module, reducing downtime. It works with S120 control unit and accepts DC bus supply from Line Module. Integrated protection includes overcurrent, over-temperature, short-circuit and ground fault protection. Widely used for machine tools, material handling, textile machinery and other automation equipment with S120 drive.

Working principle

DC bus voltage from the infeed module is fed into this power block. The internal IGBT bridge converts DC into variable frequency and variable voltage three-phase AC to drive the servo or induction motor. Sampling circuits feed current and temperature signals back to the control unit for closed-loop regulation and protection triggering.

Onboard components

IGBT power bridge assembly, current transformers, temperature sensors, gate drive board, power terminal busbar, cooling air duct interface.

LED indicators

Status signals are reported to the control unit; fault information can be checked via CU panel or STARTER software.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Self-diagnosis covers IGBT fault, overcurrent, ground short circuit, overtemperature, current sensor failure. Fault logs are saved in S120 control unit.

Programming software

Commissioning and diagnosis use Siemens STARTER software.

Installation

Power off the complete drive system and discharge DC bus fully before replacement. Install the power block into the matched S120 motor module. Reconnect all power and signal connectors. Power on and run topology identification in STARTER software, then test motor operation.

DC bus terminals, motor output terminals, internal signal connector to control board.

Diagnostic

Overcurrent fault: Motor short circuit, cable insulation breakdown or IGBT damage. Overtemperature fault: Cooling fan failure, radiator blocked. F07801 / power unit fault: Power block internal hardware failure.
