Module Feature

2001W35 is factory calibrated coaxial extension cable for eddy current non-contact vibration monitoring system.

It is manufactured with fixed capacitance to match the paired proximity probe and proximitor, ensuring linear gap measurement performance. Outer jacket is oil and abrasion resistant, suitable for installation inside bearing housing and high vibration cabinet environment. It transmits high-frequency RF excitation signal from proximitor to probe and returns impedance signal back. Each cable is marked with capacitance value, cannot be arbitrarily replaced with ordinary coaxial cable. It is widely stocked as maintenance spare for power plant, oil & gas compressor and steam turbine machinery protection system.

Working principle

The cable forms a fixed capacitive signal path between proximitor and probe coil.

High frequency oscillation signal is sent from proximitor through this cable to the probe tip. Impedance change signal induced by shaft gap variation is transmitted back to the proximitor conditioning circuit. Stable capacitance characteristic guarantees the linear measurement range and gap voltage accuracy of the whole vibration channel. Any cable damage or capacitance mismatch will trigger probe fault alarm.

Onboard components

Inner signal conductor, insulating dielectric layer, copper shielding braid, oil resistant outer jacket, coaxial connectors at both ends, strain relief and sealing sleeve.

LED indicators

Not applicable. Cable health condition is judged by proximitor module fault alarm and gap voltage stability.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

No built-in diagnostic circuit. The matched proximitor detects open circuit, short circuit and abnormal impedance to output fault alarm to monitoring workstation.

Programming software

System 1, used for vibration channel setup, gap voltage verification and fault event viewing.

Installation

Stop rotating equipment before replacement.

Do not bend cable sharply beyond minimum bending radius, lock coaxial connectors securely, avoid pulling and twisting during routing, verify gap voltage and vibration waveform after commissioning.

Interface

Coaxial male / female connectors compatible with proximity probe and proximitor module.

Diagnostic

Probe fault alarm: Cable internal break, short circuit or connector loose/contaminated. Vibration signal noisy: Shielding damage, poor grounding or cable cross with power cable. Gap voltage offset: Wrong cable capacitance grade mismatched with probe and proximitor.
