Module Feature

2711P-RDT12H is the display/touch assembly of Allen‑Bradley PanelView Plus HMI.

It is a separate display unit, needs to pair with the compatible logic module (2711P-RP series) to form a complete HMI terminal. It adopts 12.1 inch color TFT LCD, analog resistive touch panel, built-in LED backlight. It supports high vibration industrial cabinet environment, front panel meets NEMA 4 / IP65 protection. This is a legacy series, widely stocked as HMI maintenance spare for factory production line, water treatment and power plant control cabinet.

Working principle

The logic processing module sends image and touch scan signal to this display unit.

TFT panel renders the configured HMI screen pages, touch sensor captures operator touch coordinate and feeds coordinate signal back to the logic board. Backlight drive circuit supplies brightness for viewing. If communication between display and logic module fails, blank screen or touch loss fault will appear.

Onboard components

12.1" TFT LCD panel, resistive touch overlay, backlight driver board, front sealing gasket, internal flat cable, metal front frame and status indicator.

LED indicators

Front LED indicates backlight power and communication status with the logic board.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Diagnosis is completed by the matched PanelView Plus logic module. It detects backlight failure, touch circuit open/short, LVDS communication loss and display hardware error. HMI project download and fault diagnosis use FactoryTalk View ME software.

Programming software

FactoryTalk View ME, used for HMI project editing, download, runtime monitoring and fault checking.

Installation

Cut off HMI power before replacement.

Check flat cable connection between display and logic module, install sealing gasket correctly, fix front panel evenly, test touch response and screen display after commissioning.

Interface

Internal LVDS flat cable connector to 2711P-RP logic module.

Diagnostic

Blank screen: Backlight driver failure, loose flat cable or logic module fault. Touch no response: Touch panel damage, touch line break or calibration lost. Flickering screen: Loose connector, power ripple or LCD panel aging.
