Module Feature

AF2650-30 is ABB AF series large-capacity universal contactor, 3-pole main circuit structure. The AF series adopts electronic coil drive technology, supporting wide range AC and DC control voltage, anti-voltage fluctuation ability strong, low holding power consumption.

It is rated 2650A under AC-1 working condition, suitable for non-inductive heavy load switching; can be matched with auxiliary contact modules and mechanical interlock accessories. Built-in surge absorption circuit to protect coil from voltage spike damage. Widely used for low voltage main incoming cabinet, bus tie switch, large fan, pump and heavy industrial motor control occasions.

Working principle

After control voltage energizes the electronic coil module, electromagnetic mechanism drives main contact to close and connect main circuit.

When coil power off or under-voltage occurs, main contact opens rapidly and cuts off load circuit. Auxiliary contacts synchronously switch signal state for PLC feedback and interlock control. The electronic drive circuit keeps stable pull-in under fluctuating control voltage.

Onboard components

Main contact assembly and arc extinguishing chamber, electronic coil drive module, electromagnetic operating mechanism, main busbar terminal group, auxiliary contact installation socket, mechanical interlock mounting interface.

LED indicators

No built-in LED indicator. Closing/opening status can be judged by mechanical position indicator or matched auxiliary feedback signal.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

The contactor itself has no electronic self-check. Fault judgment depends on auxiliary contact feedback, coil voltage monitoring and contact temperature detection.

Programming software

Not applicable. Logic control realized by external PLC and relay circuit.

Installation

Install vertically in switch cabinet and reserve enough heat dissipation space. Tighten main busbar connection bolts to specified torque.

Wire control circuit and auxiliary signal wiring correctly. Test closing, opening and mechanical interlock function before power transmission. Regularly check contact overheating and arc chamber carbon accumulation.

Interface

Main busbar terminals, coil control terminals, auxiliary contact terminals, mechanical interlock interface.

Diagnostic

Fail to close: Coil voltage out of range, mechanical interlock locked, mechanism jammed.

Contact overheating: Busbar torque insufficient, contact ablation.

Random drop out: Control voltage unstable.
