Module Feature

SURT6000XLIM is a marine version uninterruptible power supply under APC Smart-UPS RT series.

It adopts online double conversion topology with pure sine wave output, rated 6000VA / 4200W, 230V AC. It passes DNV marine certification, strengthens vibration resistance, humidity resistance and EMC performance to adapt to ship cabin environment. It supports rack and tower dual installation, built-in battery pack and optional extended battery cabinet for longer backup time. It integrates LCD local display, network management slot and multiple IEC output sockets. It is widely used on offshore vessels, platform control cabins and ship automation systems for critical load power protection.

Working principle

AC mains input is rectified into DC, then inverted back to stable AC output continuously.

When mains power fails, it switches to battery power supply with zero transfer time to keep downstream loads running. The internal monitoring circuit collects voltage, load, battery temperature and runtime data, and sends alarm and status information to the monitoring system via network card.

Onboard components

Rectifier module, inverter assembly, battery pack, charging circuit, control DSP board, LCD operation panel, status LED array, EMC filter, IEC output terminal group, communication expansion slot.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate mains normal, battery mode, overload alarm, fault alarm and charging status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects mains loss, battery aging, output overload, internal over-temperature and inverter failure. Fault information, battery health and remaining runtime can be viewed on local LCD or APC PowerChute software.

Programming software

APC PowerChute Network Shutdown, used for UPS status monitoring, alarm configuration and safe automatic shutdown of server and control hosts.

Installation

Fix the UPS on ship cabinet or platform bracket. Connect mains input, battery wiring and load output, verify EMC filter and communication function before commissioning.

Diagnostic

Switch to battery frequently: Abnormal mains voltage or loose input wiring. Short backup time: Battery aging or insufficient charging time. Overload alarm: Load power exceeds UPS rated capacity.
