System compatibility

1000BASE-BX-D is Extreme original bidirectional single-fiber gigabit SFP transceiver. Compatible with Extreme Summit X440, X450a, VSP series switches equipped with SFP slots. It must be paired with 1000BASE-BX-U module at the opposite end of the fiber link. Supports DDM real-time monitoring of optical power, temperature and supply voltage. Widely used for scenarios with limited fiber cores in enterprise campus and factory gigabit links.

Function

1000BASE-BX-D adopts WDM bidirectional transmission technology, sending and receiving optical signals on one single-mode fiber. It transmits at 1490nm and receives at 1310nm, matching with BX-U module. DDM function can read transceiver working parameters in real time. This module saves fiber resources for 10km gigabit point-to-point singlemode fiber connection.

Installation

Wear ESD anti-static wrist strap. Insert the SFP module fully into the SFP port of switch. Connect LC simplex singlemode fiber patch cord. Make sure the remote side uses 1000BASE-BX-U. Power on the equipment, verify module identification, DDM optical power reading and link status via switch CLI before commissioning.
