Compatible with Extreme certified 10G SFP+ transceivers, 10G direct attach copper and active optical cables. It works with MSM24 management switch fabric module. Used for campus core, data center leaf/spine 10G port expansion.

Function

8500-G24X-e high-density 10G I/O line card for BlackDiamond 8500 chassis switch. It provides 24 10G SFP+ interfaces to connect leaf switches, servers and storage equipment. Hot-swappable design allows card replacement without powering down the whole chassis, reducing network downtime. Hardware supports static routing, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP and advanced QoS scheduling. Widely used for large campus core network, medium data center leaf layer port expansion and network upgrade.

InstallationFollow ESD protection procedure. Insert line card into empty slot of BlackDiamond 8500 chassis and tighten captive screws. Install SFP+ transceiver or DAC cable. Verify card recognition and port status via EXOS CLI, configure VLAN, routing and QoS policy as required.
