Function

Summit X460-48x is 1U high-performance stackable Layer3 all-fiber Gigabit non-PoE access switch. 48 SFP slots accept fiber optical modules to connect remote workstations, building interconnection and fiber network terminals. Dual rear expansion slots support XGM3 dual 10G SFP+ uplink card and SummitStack stacking module. SummitStack technology combines multiple switches into one logical device for unified management. Supports IPv4/IPv6 static routing, 802.1X access authentication, VLAN segmentation and hardware QoS to prioritize voice and video traffic. Hot-swappable power and fan modules greatly improve system reliability. Widely deployed for campus multi-building network, factory long-distance fiber transmission and school fiber access spare replacement.

Installation

Follow ESD protection procedure. Mount switch to standard 19-inch 1U rack. Connect AC power cord. Install secondary redundant PSU if required. Insert SFP fiber transceivers for access ports or install XGM3 10G card for high-speed uplink. Install stacking module and stacking cable for multi-unit stacking. Access serial console port for initial ExtremeXOS configuration, set VLAN, ACL and QoS policy. Verify stack synchronization and port connectivity after power-up.
