Function

XA1480 is compact branch fabric gateway appliance for extending Extreme Fabric Connect to remote offices. It uses FCVPN and IPsec to securely stretch campus L2/L3 virtual networks across WAN links, delivering consistent policy and segmentation for remote branches. Built-in x86 hardware with SSD supports local service processing. 6 gigabit copper ports connect local branch terminals, two 10G SFP+ ports serve as uplink towards WAN or local aggregation. Small footprint fits limited space in remote site telecom cabinet. Widely used for enterprise branch, retail site and remote office fabric extension deployment.

InstallationFollow ESD protection procedure. Fix appliance on desktop or install optional rack mount bracket. Connect 12V external DC power adapter. Insert SFP+ modules or DAC cables for uplink. Access console port for initial VOSS configuration, enable FCVPN, IPsec tunnel and VSN segmentation. Verify fabric peering and tunnel encryption after power-up.
