The GE Fanuc IC670GBI002K is the Genius Bus Interface Unit (BIU) header module for the Field Control IC670 distributed I/O system.

It links the master PLC or host computer over the Genius Bus and manages data exchange between control unit and up to eight Field Control I/O modules.

It exchanges 128 bytes of input and 128 bytes of output data per scan and supports Genius Bus 975 kbaud communication.

It supplies a regulated 6.5 VDC output to connected I/O modules and supports Hot Standby CPU redundancy.

Hot insertion/removal allows module replacement without system shutdown in mission-critical control loops.

It is widely used as spare replacement in turbine, power and process Field Control systems.
