GE IS420YAICS Analog I/O Pack Unit

Module Feature

IS420YAICS is GE Vernova Mark VIeS YAIC series safety-rated combined analog input and output pack.

It integrates 10 analog input channels and 2 analog output channels. Input channels support configurable 4-20mA, ±5V and ±10V signals for pressure, temperature and flow transmitters. Analog output channels output 4-20mA control signal to drive valve positioners. It adopts dual IONet redundant Ethernet communication, supports simplex and TMR triple redundant rack configuration, meets SIL3 safety requirement. It works with dedicated analog terminal base, supports hot-swap replacement without rack shutdown. It is widely stocked as maintenance spare for power plant gas turbine, steam turbine and auxiliary BOP control cabinet.

Working principle

Field analog signals from transmitters are converted to digital value by 16-bit AD converter inside the pack.

Onboard processor uploads digital process value to Mark VIeS controller through dual IONet network. It receives control command from controller and executes DA conversion to output analog regulating signal for fuel valve, steam valve and actuator. Built-in channel diagnostics detect wire break, short circuit and signal overrange, and report fault events to control system.

Onboard components

Local processing CPU, dual IONet Ethernet transceiver, 16-bit AD/DA conversion circuit, signal conditioning and isolation circuit, channel fault monitoring circuit, status LED array, rear edge connector and metal shielding housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate module power, RUN status, network link, channel active and channel fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects network timeout, signal overrange, loop break, power loss and internal hardware anomaly. Fault logs and channel diagnosis can be downloaded by ToolboxST software.

Programming software

ToolboxST, used for channel signal range configuration, scaling setup, alarm threshold definition and module fault diagnosis.

Installation

Follow hot-swap operating procedure before replacement.

Lock pack firmly on terminal base, verify dual IONet network communication, calibrate channel range and test output response before commissioning.

Interface

Diagnostic

Module offline: IONet cable fault, network configuration mismatch or pack hardware damage. AI channel fault: Field transmitter failure, signal wire open/short or loop power missing. AO no regulation: Output channel burnout, positioner wiring break or command scaling error.
