Module Feature

IS220PDIOH1A belongs to GE Speedtronic Mark VIe intelligent combined discrete input and output I/O pack.

It integrates 24 channels discrete input and 12 channels relay output on one pack, equivalent to combining PDIA input pack and PDOA output pack function. It adopts dual redundant IONet Ethernet communication to exchange data with Mark VIe controller. It supports hot-swap replacement without rack shutdown. Matched terminal base IS200TDBSH2A for simplex or IS200TDBTH2A for TMR redundant configuration. It collects breaker auxiliary contact, limit switch and pressure switch status, and outputs relay signal to drive solenoid valve, contactor and trip relay. It is widely stocked as maintenance spare for power plant gas turbine, steam turbine and auxiliary control cabinet.

Working principle

Field discrete signals are collected by DI channels and converted to digital data.

Pack onboard CPU uploads status to controller via dual IONet network. It receives control command from controller and triggers internal drive circuit to actuate relay outputs. Each channel has optical isolation and feedback monitoring. The module continuously compares feedback signal to detect contact failure and wiring breakage, and reports fault to control system.

Onboard components

Local processing CPU, dual IONet Ethernet transceiver, DI signal conditioning circuit, relay drive circuit, channel feedback monitoring circuit, isolation optocoupler, channel status LED array, infrared service port, rear edge connector and metal shielding housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate module power, RUN status, network link, channel active status and channel fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects network communication timeout, channel open/short, relay feedback mismatch, power supply anomaly and internal hardware fault. Fault logs can be viewed and downloaded by ToolboxST software.

Programming software

ToolboxST, used for point configuration, network mapping, logic download and module fault diagnosis.

Installation

Follow hot-swap operation procedure before replacement.

Lock pack firmly on terminal base, check IONet dual network connection, test DI acquisition and DO relay action together with feedback signal after installation.

Diagnostic

Module offline: IONet cable fault, network IP mismatch or pack hardware damage. DI no signal: Field switch open, wiring break or channel burnout. DO no output: Drive circuit damaged, relay contact burned or field coil open. Feedback mismatch: Relay contact wear, terminal loose or wiring fault.
