GE MN31W16 M-PACT Plus ACB Unit

Module Feature

MN31W16 belongs to GE M-PACT Plus series drawout air circuit breaker.

It adopts 3-pole layout with 1600A frame current rating, non-automatic operating mechanism design. It supports drawout racking function with test, connected and isolated positions, equipped with mechanical interlock to prevent misoperation. It can be configured with auxiliary contact set and shunt trip accessories. It is widely used in factory power centers, mining substations and combined cycle power plant low voltage distribution cabinets for spare replacement.

Working principle

The manual stored-energy mechanism drives main contacts to close and open.

Arc extinguishing chamber quenches fault arc rapidly when breaking. Mechanical and electrical interlocks ensure safe racking operation. External protective relay is required for overload and short-circuit protection.

Installation

Install the drawout carriage into switchgear compartment.

Check racking interlock, contact engagement and auxiliary signal feedback before energizing.

InterfacePrimary busbar terminals, secondary control and auxiliary signal terminals.

Diagnostic

Fail to rack in/out: Mechanical jam or interlock not released. Overheating: Poor contact surface or insufficient terminal torque. Cannot open: Mechanism stuck or trip linkage blocked.
