GE Multilin T60 Transformer Protection IED Unit

Module Feature

T60TCMHKHF8LH6LM6CP6TU8NWXX is a full-featured order variant of GE Multilin UR T60 transformer protection IED.

It supports multi-winding transformer configuration, covers segregated phase differential, restrained earth fault, distance backup, breaker failure, over/under voltage, thermal overload and tap-changer control logic. It integrates disturbance recorder, fault locator and event logger, supports IEC61850, GOOSE, DNP3 and IEC104 communication protocols. It is widely deployed in power plant, transmission substation and industrial power system for two-winding and three-winding power transformer protection.

Working principle

The IED samples synchronized current signals from CTs on all transformer windings.

It calculates differential current to identify internal transformer fault and sends trip signal to open associated circuit breakers. It records COMTRADE fault waveforms, fault timestamp and fault type, uploads real-time electrical parameters and alarm events to SCADA station control system.

Onboard components

Main CPU processing board, analog CT/PT sampling module, graphic HMI panel, binary input/output matrix, Ethernet communication card, DC auxiliary power supply circuit.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power status, run condition, trip flag and communication channel alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Continuous online supervision detects CT circuit break, VT fuse failure, internal hardware anomaly, power supply loss and communication interruption, alarm codes are displayed on local HMI.

Programming software

GE UR Configuration Tool, used for protection setting, logic configuration, disturbance record analysis and firmware upgrade.

Installation

Install IED inside protection panel, connect CT/VT wiring, DC auxiliary supply and network cable.

Complete CT polarity check, differential stability test and GOOSE channel verification before energizing. Perform fault simulation and breaker failure logic test.

Diagnostic

Differential unstable: Incorrect CT polarity, open CT circuit or channel synchronization error.
