GE QMR366 Fusible Disconnect Switch Unit

Module Feature

QMR366 belongs to GE QMR series. It is a heavy-duty bolt-in fusible panelboard disconnect switch, rated 600A, 600VAC, 3-pole design. This switch is installed inside GE panelboards, using Class RK1 or RK5 fuses to provide short-circuit and overcurrent protection. The front mounted rotary handle provides visible ON/OFF isolation for maintenance lockout-tagout. Robust copper contact assembly, metal enclosure with mechanical interlock to prevent opening cover under energized condition. Widely used in industrial main distribution panel, commercial building low voltage switchgear for feeder isolation and protection.

Working principle

Rotary handle drives internal contact mechanism to close or open main power circuit. When overcurrent or short-circuit fault occurs, the installed fuse element melts to cut off fault current and protect downstream cables and loads. The visible blade gap offers safe isolation point for maintenance work. Mechanical interlock prevents access to fuse compartment when switch is closed.

Installation

Follow lockout-tagout safety procedure before operation. Mount GE QMR366 switch into panelboard frame and fasten mounting bolts. Torque main cable lugs and install matched RK1/RK5 fuses. Verify mechanical interlock function, test manual ON/OFF operation before power restoration.

Diagnostic

Terminal overheating: loose cable connection or fuse clip oxidation. Cannot switch handle: mechanical interlock stuck or contact binding. Fuses blow repeatedly: downstream overload or short circuit fault.
