GE SB462RG Bus Plug Unit

Module Feature

SB462RG belongs to GE Spectra SB busway series. It is a plug-in fusible tap for GE Spectra sandwich busway system, 3-pole 4-wire configuration with ground, rated 60A, max voltage 600VAC. This bus plug adopts aluminum housing, built-in fuse clips for Class R fuses, providing overload and short-circuit protection for downstream branch circuits. It is equipped with manual disconnect handle and mechanical safety interlock mechanism to prevent cover opening under energized condition. The plug-in design allows quick installation and removal on matched Spectra busway for flexible power branch expansion. Widely used in factory low voltage trunk power distribution, workshop production line power supply and industrial MCC busway systems.

Working principle

GE SB462RG bus plug is inserted and locked onto Spectra busway. Internal contact block connects with the main bus bar to draw power. When overload or short-circuit fault occurs, the internal fuse melts and cuts off fault current to protect downstream cables and loads. The disconnect handle provides visible isolation gap for maintenance lockout-tagout. The mechanical interlock prohibits opening the fuse compartment while the plug is energized.

Installation

Follow lockout-tagout safety procedure before operation. Align GE SB462RG bus plug with Spectra busway guide rail, insert and lock the latch. Install matched Class R fuses and tighten downstream load cable lugs. Test handle on-off operation and verify interlock function before power restoration.

Diagnostic

Plug overheating: poor contact or contact surface oxidation. Handle cannot operate: interlock mechanism stuck. Fuses blow repeatedly: downstream overload or short circuit fault.
