GE T3000 Turbine Control System Unit

Module Feature

T3000 is GE advanced Speedtronic turbine control system, successor of Mark VIe platform. It adopts distributed modular design, supports gas turbine, steam turbine and combined cycle power unit integrated control. It integrates speed control, load control, temperature control, sequencing, interlock and turbine protection functions. Redundant controller, redundant network and redundant I/O modules are optional to meet high availability requirement. Supports hot swap of I/O modules without system shutdown. Widely deployed in power plant gas/steam turbine, combined cycle generation unit.

Working principle

Field sensors send analog and digital signals to I/O modules. Controllers run turbine regulation and protection logic, calculate control output to drive fuel valves, steam valves and auxiliary equipment. Real-time data and alarm events are transmitted to HMI and plant DCS through communication network. When trip condition is detected, it executes fast turbine trip protection.

Onboard components

Controller module, analog/digital I/O modules, power supply module, Ethernet communication module, backplane rack, HMI workstation, signal terminal assemblies.

LED indicators

Each module has Power LED, Run LED, Fault LED, Communication status LED.

Hardware self-diagnosis

Power supply detection, communication link diagnosis, I/O channel fault check, memory self-test, records fault alarm and event sequence.

Programming software

GE ToolboxST configuration software, used for logic programming, parameter setting, real-time monitoring, trend recording and firmware download.

Installation

Follow lockout-tagout safety procedure before operation. Install rack and backplane inside control cabinet, wire redundant power supply, field I/O cables and network cables. Download control logic configuration, perform I/O point test and redundant switching test before commissioning.

Field analog/digital signal terminals, redundant Ethernet ports, power terminals, trip relay output terminals.

Diagnostic

Controller loss of synchronization: network cable fault or redundant configuration error. Channel signal abnormal: field sensor fault or I/O module channel damage. Communication interruption: switch fault or IP configuration mismatch.
