Function
Function description: ERN 1381.026-2048 is incremental rotary encoder manufactured by HEIDENHAIN. It delivers high-quality sine/cosine incremental signals for electronic interpolation to achieve ultra-high resolution. Reference mark Z pulse establishes machine datum after power cycle. The 1:10 taper shaft and friction locking structure ensures reliable torque transmission. Withdrawal thread facilitates encoder disassembly from motor rotor. Compact metal housing withstands machine workshop vibration and high temperature. It is core measuring spare for heavy CNC boring mill closed-loop motion control.
Installation
Installation steps: Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Cut off all power supply. Fit encoder tapered shaft onto motor rotor, tighten expanding locking ring. Connect shielded encoder cable to interpolation or CNC control unit. Adjust mounting alignment, lock all fasteners. Restore power, run signal amplitude test and reference mark detection test.
Interface
Interface list: 14-pin double-row locking connector, 5VDC power and ~1.05Vpp measuring signal terminals, no LED indicators on ERN 1381.026-2048.
Diagnostic
Troubleshooting: No measuring signal: Check 5V power supply, cable breakage or connector pin contact. Reference mark cannot be detected: Optical window contamination or shaft misalignment. Intermittent signal fluctuation: Vibration, loose taper locking ring or bearing deterioration.
