Module Feature

GRS1042-AT2ZSHH00Z9HHSE2A99-992 is the AT2Z configuration variant of Belden Hirschmann GREYHOUND GRS1042 series modular managed gigabit switch. It adopts fanless passive cooling design, 19-inch rack mounting, dual hot-swappable power supply slots for power redundancy. It supports up to 28 gigabit ports, including RJ45 copper ports and SFP / 2.5G SFP fiber slots, expandable via GMM media modules. It runs on Hirschmann HiOS firmware, supports layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing, IEEE1588 PTP precision time synchronization, MRP, HIPER-Ring, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and IEC61850 substation communication protocols. EMC heavy industry grade, anti-vibration and wide temperature design. It is widely stocked as emergency spare for power substation, rail transit, oil & gas and factory backbone communication cabinet.

Working principle

After power-on, the switch completes hardware initialization and HiOS system startup. It performs Ethernet frame forwarding, ring network redundancy management, PTP timestamp synchronization and access control according to configured rules. It continuously monitors port link status, power module health and network ring status. When link break occurs, ring protocol quickly switches the backup path to realize fast network recovery. Built-in fault alarm relay output reports abnormal status to DCS or SCADA system.

Installation

Cut off rack power before replacement. Match the AT2Z hardware variant, install correct redundant power modules and SFP transceivers, upload HiOS configuration file, test ring switchover, PTP sync and all port communication after commissioning.
