Module Feature

301-C-DLC-BIP is a Honeywell digital input I/O module for industrial control system. It receives dry contact or voltage discrete signals from field devices such as limit switches, pressure switches, flow switches and auxiliary breaker contacts. It carries out signal filtering and isolation, transmits status data back to main controller through fieldbus. It has built-in channel overvoltage and reverse polarity protection. Compact rack-mounted design, good anti-interference performance. Widely used in petrochemical, power plant and water treatment DCS and PLC cabinet.

Working principle

Field discrete signals enter the module’s input channel. Optical isolation circuit separates field side and control side circuits. The onboard logic chip identifies ON/OFF state of each channel, packages status data and sends it to the main control unit via bus. It continuously performs channel detection and sends fault alarm when open circuit or short circuit is detected.

Optical isolation chips, signal filtering circuit, channel logic chip, bus communication circuit, status indicator LED array, power management circuit, terminal block.

Installation

Cut off rack power before operation. Insert Honeywell 301-C-DLC-BIP module into matched backplane slot and lock. Wire field discrete input signals to terminal block. Download I/O configuration and verify channel status before power restoration.

Backplane bus connector, 24VDC power terminals, field discrete signal input terminals.

Diagnostic

Module no communication: backplane contact poor or bus configuration error. Channel always OFF: field switch open or wiring break. Channel false trigger: signal line interference or insulation degradation.
