Module Feature

51401996-100 is the Enhanced Application Module Redundancy (EAMR) card designed for Honeywell TDC3000 distributed control system.

It supports hot-swap operation and works in pairs with active and standby Application Modules. It synchronizes control logic, memory data and runtime status continuously at high speed. Once the primary AM fails, it triggers bumpless millisecond-level switchover to the standby module to avoid process interruption. It is widely deployed in critical petrochemical, power and refining DCS cabinets for spare replacement and system availability upgrade.

Working principle

The card establishes a dedicated synchronous link between primary and standby application modules.

It mirrors all runtime data and control states in real time and performs health voting continuously. When the self-check detects primary module fault, the hardware logic transfers control authority to the standby module without disrupting the closed-loop process regulation.

Onboard components

High-speed synchronization logic chip, backplane high-density connector, heat sink assembly, status indicator LED array, isolation signal routing circuit.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power supply, active/standby role, synchronization health and fault alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Continuous monitoring detects synchronization loss, backplane contact failure, internal hardware error and power anomaly, fault flags are uploaded to the DCS station console.

Programming software

Honeywell TDC3000 Configuration Tool, used for redundancy parameter setup, failover test and fault log review.

Installation

Cut off chassis power before replacement, insert the board into the designated slot and lock the fasteners.

Connect dedicated synchronization ribbon cable between paired AM modules, verify sync status and perform failover simulation test.

Diagnostic

Sync loss: Loose sync cable or inconsistent firmware version between AM pairs. Redundancy fault: Damaged gold finger or board internal component failure. No LED light: Missing backplane power supply.
