OPTIMATION OP-9001 OptiMate Communications Master

Module Feature

OPTIMATION OP-9001 belongs to OptiMate series communication master module. It acts as serial multi-drop gateway, allowing up to 31 pieces of OP-600 and OP-1000 series OptiMate operator panels to share one single PLC communication port. Supports GE Series 90/30, Allen‑Bradley SLC5/03,5/04, DirectLOGIC and Modbus RTU PLC. Surface cabinet mounting design, two RS422 panel bus ports and one PLC serial port. Widely used for multi-operator station semiconductor wet bench and chemical delivery control cabinet. Note: Not compatible with OP400 series panels.

Working principle: OP-9001 communicates with host PLC via serial port, then distributes data to all connected OptiMate HMI panels on RS422 multi-drop bus. It transparently exchanges setpoints, process values and alarm data between PLC and each operator terminal. Function

OP-9001 communication master manufactured by OPTIMATION. It reduces PLC serial port consumption for multi-HMI systems. Incorrect baud rate or bus wiring short will cause all connected panels offline. It is central communication gateway for multi-operator wet bench automation systems.

Installation

Follow lockout/tagout safety procedure before installation. Power off control cabinet. Mount unit inside cabinet. Wire 24VDC power, PLC serial cable and RS422 multi-drop panel bus. Set dip switch address, configure network in OP-WINEDIT, test all connected operator panels before production startup.

InterfacePLC serial D-sub connector, dual RS422 terminal blocks for HMI panels, 24VDC power terminal, bi-color communication LED indicators on housing of OP-9001.

Diagnostic

No PLC communication:Wrong baud rate, parity mismatch or PLC wiring fault. All panels offline:Multi-drop bus short or OP-9001 power missing. Single panel no response:Panel address conflict or broken drop cable. Intermittent communication:Missing bus termination resistor.
