Parker PTR Rotary Actuator Unit

Module Feature

PTR251-090P-RA21M-C belongs to Parker PTR series single vane hydraulic rotary actuator. It provides 90° angular rotation output directly from hydraulic pressure, compact integrated vane structure, no external linkages. Internal stop screws allow adjustable rotation limit within the 90° travel range. The shaft is designed for direct coupling to ball valves, dampers, louvers and process machinery. It supports bidirectional rotation by reversing hydraulic supply ports. High torque density, robust bearing and seal package, suitable for continuous industrial duty. Widely used in oil & gas pipeline valve actuation, marine equipment, steel mill and general process automation.

Working principle

Hydraulic oil enters one side of the vane chamber, pressure pushes the vane and central shaft to rotate. Oil on the opposite side discharges back to the tank. When hydraulic supply is switched to the opposite port, vane rotates reversely back to original position. Internal mechanical stops restrict maximum rotation angle and prevent over-travel damage to coupled equipment. The output shaft transmits rotary torque directly to the load device.

Onboard components

Actuator housing, single vane assembly, output shaft, high pressure seal set, internal adjustable stop pins, bearing bushings, two hydraulic port connections.

LED indicators

No onboard LED indicators. Position status is detected by external limit switches or position feedback sensor.

Hardware self-diagnosis

External pressure monitoring, shaft leakage inspection, cycle torque verification, hydraulic contamination check.

Programming software

No configuration software. Motion direction and travel limits are set mechanically via stop adjustment screws.

Installation

Depressurize hydraulic circuit before installation. Mount Parker PTR251-090P-RA21M-C actuator onto matched valve or equipment flange and align shaft coupling. Connect supply and return hydraulic lines. Adjust internal travel stops, test rotation cycle and inspect seal leakage.

Hydraulic supply port A, hydraulic supply port B, output drive shaft, mounting flange.

Diagnostic

Slow rotation: insufficient hydraulic supply pressure or blocked oil passage. Shaft leakage: worn shaft seal assembly. Cannot reach full travel: stop misadjustment or vane internal damage.
