Products Description
VMIC VMIACC-0577 Rear Transition Board

Module Feature
VMIACC-0577 (part number 332-800577-000 A) is a passive CompactPCI rear transition I/O board developed by VMIC (GE Fanuc / Abaco Systems). It works paired with VMIC CompactPCI single board computers, installed on the rear side of CompactPCI backplane. It routes signals from front SBC through backplane J3 and J5 connectors to rear accessible interfaces, including dual DB9 serial ports,1 USB port, enhanced IDE hard disk header, floppy disk header and dual 68-pin PMC I/O headers. This board is fully passive without signal processing chips;it only provides PCB trace routing for computer peripheral and PMC expansion signals. Rear I/O design eliminates front panel cable clutter and protects front CPU board connectors from repeated plugging wear. Rugged Eurocard PCB with conformal coating, shock and vibration screened for power plant cabinet environment, widely used in gas/steam turbine CompactPCI control cabinet wiring, aerospace ground test bench and hardware-in-loop real-time simulation CompactPCI chassis.
Working principle
All peripheral and PMC I/O signals from front CompactPCI SBC pass through CompactPCI backplane to J3/J5 connectors on VMIACC-0577. Internal PCB traces directly distribute these signals to rear-side DB9,USB,IDE,floppy and PMC 68-pin headers. No signal conversion or amplification, only passive wiring transition.
Onboard components
CompactPCI J3 / J5 rear connectors,dual DB9 serial connectors,USB port,40-pin IDE header,34-pin floppy header,dual 68-pin PMC I/O headers,passive copper trace network and ground shield plane.
LED indicators
No LED indicators,completely passive hardware.
Hardware self-diagnosis
Visual inspection of PCB,components and solder joints;continuity test for serial,USB,IDE and PMC signal channels;J3/J5 pin contact and shield ground continuity verification.
Programming software
No driver or software required, completely passive transition hardware.
