Products Description
VMIC VMIVME-2200 Relay Output Board

Module Feature
VMIC VMIVME-2200 is a single-slot 6U VMEbus relay output board, offering total 32 independent relay channels. Relay type is factory selectable: mercury wetted contact or dry reed contact. Each channel supports form C changeover contact, contact rating up to 2 A, 250 VAC / 220 VDC. 1000 Vrms galvanic isolation separates field relay circuits and VME backplane, eliminating ground loop interference between chassis and field equipment. Onboard DIP switch sets VME base address and data polarity. Supports 8/16/32 bit VME data transfer, A16/A24 addressing modes. Channel status register allows host to read relay actuation state. Front panel carries two 32-pin connectors for all field wiring. Rugged Eurocard construction, widely used in turbine auxiliary control, aerospace test bench, industrial interlock and signal simulation VME chassis.
Working principle
VME host writes logic state to board control register, which energizes corresponding relay coil to switch form C contact. Host can read back relay status register to verify contact actuation. DIP switches configure base address and signal polarity. Isolation barrier prevents high voltage from field side damaging VME backplane logic. Relay contact signal is routed to front panel dual 32-pin connectors for connection to external solenoid valves, indicator lamps and interlock circuits. VME slave interface handles address decoding and data handshake for register read and write.
Onboard components
32 relay array (mercury wetted or dry reed), relay coil drive circuit, VME address decode logic, channel status register, DIP address switch bank, dual 32-pin front panel I/O connectors, power and status LED array, surge suppression network for relay contacts.
LED indicators
Front panel LED indicators for board +5 V power, VME bus activity and general fault alarm. Individual channel state can be read via software register.
Hardware self-diagnosis
Visual inspection of PCB, front ejectors and solder joints; board ID register readback verification; relay write-readback loop test for all 32 channels; DIP switch address configuration validation; VME 8/16/32 bit read/write communication test.
Programming software
VMIC VME device driver library, universal relay I/O configuration and status reading utility, compatible with VxWorks, Linux and Windows embedded real-time operating systems.

Installation
Follow ESD safety procedure before handling. Fully power off VME chassis. Insert VMIVME-2200 into vacant 6U VME slot and lock front panel ejector latches. Set DIP switches for VME base address according to system address map. Wire field loads to dual front panel 32-pin connectors. Power on chassis, load VMIC VME driver, execute channel write-readback test before commissioning.
Interface
VME J1/J2 backplane connector, dual front-panel 32-pin field relay terminal connectors, fault status signal pins.
Diagnostic
Board undetected: poor VME backplane contact, damaged edge connector, incorrect DIP address switch setting. Relay no switching: coil drive circuit failure, contact burnout or broken field wiring. State readback mismatch: register read timing error or relay contact aging. Random channel misoperation: surge noise without proper contact suppression.
