Module Feature

144-966-000-011 is factory-calibrated proximitor driver for eddy current condition monitoring system.

It supplies stable high-frequency excitation signal to the probe coil, and converts the impedance variation signal from the probe into linear DC gap voltage output. It supports built-in fault detection for probe open circuit, short circuit and cable mismatch. It is matched with fixed capacitance probe and extension cable to guarantee linear measuring range. It is widely applied on bearing housing for radial vibration, axial thrust and keyphasor measurement of gas turbine, steam turbine and centrifugal compressor, and stocked as maintenance spare for power plant and oil & gas monitoring rack.

Working principle

Internal oscillator circuit generates high-frequency RF excitation and transmits to probe coil.

Eddy current is induced on the metal shaft surface, which changes coil impedance. The conditioning circuit demodulates impedance signal and outputs DC voltage proportional to the gap between probe tip and shaft. The gap voltage is sent to monitor rack for vibration value calculation, alarm trigger and machinery protection interlock.

Onboard components

High frequency oscillation circuit, signal demodulation & linear conditioning circuit, probe fault detection circuit, status LED array, coaxial probe connector, rack edge terminal and metal shielding housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power supply, normal gap status, probe fault and signal alarm.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects probe open, short circuit, signal out-of-limit and internal circuit anomaly. Fault alarm information can be viewed from host monitoring configuration software.

Programming software

System 1, used for channel configuration, gap voltage setup and vibration trend analysis.

Installation

Power off the monitoring rack before replacement.

Use matched calibrated probe and extension cable, lock coaxial connector securely, adjust probe target gap and verify channel health after commissioning.

Interface

Coaxial connector for probe cable, rack backplane signal terminal, 24VDC auxiliary power terminal.

Diagnostic

Gap voltage unstable: Wrong cable capacitance, loose connector or damaged probe tip. Probe fault alarm: Cable break, short circuit or internal circuit damage. Signal noise: Ground loop interference or shielding failure.
