Module Feature

3BSE083204R1 is the complete kit part number for ABB TUS810K01 modular termination unit (MTU) under Select I/O series for System 800xA DCS.

The assembly acts as mechanical carrier and field signal interface for single-channel SCM signal conditioning modules. It supports self-coding locking mechanism: each FTB terminal block remembers the installed SCM type to prevent wrong module replacement. It accepts analog, digital, HART and intrinsically safe SCM modules, suitable for SIL3 safety instrumented loops. Vertical DIN rail mounting saves cabinet space, each MTU supports maximum 16 signal channels. The package is pre-configured set including base, field terminals, power feed terminals and protective cover. Working principle

Field sensor and actuator wiring terminates on FTB810 field terminal blocks.

Terminal block routes signals to the inserted SCM conditioning module, while PTB810 provides loop power injection for 4-20mA instruments. The TUS810 backplane communicates with GIO gateway module via internal bus, converting field signals into Ethernet Select I/O protocol for 800xA controller. Built-in channel disconnect function allows loop isolation without removing wiring. Coding pins restrict mismatched SCM swap to avoid configuration error.

Installation

Cut off field loop power before replacement.
