Module Feature

BA4-30-50-310 is a high-power switching power module from SOCAPEL. It accepts universal 85~264VAC single-phase input, stabilizes to 310VDC output with maximum 50A continuous current. High efficiency design reduces heat loss, suitable for heavy load continuous operation. Integrated over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and over-temperature lockout protection. Internal EMI filter suppresses conducted interference. Compact rack mount structure, anti-vibration coated PCB. Widely stocked for laser processing equipment, test bench and special automation power system maintenance.

Working principle

AC input passes EMI filter and rectifier circuit, converted to primary DC voltage. High-frequency PWM control IC drives power MOSFET to realize isolated step-down/step-up conversion, outputs stable 310V DC. Sampling circuit continuously monitors output voltage, current and heatsink temperature. When fault condition is triggered, the module latches protection and cuts output to avoid downstream load damage.

Onboard components

EMI filter, rectifier bridge, high-frequency transformer, power MOSFET, PWM control chip, output electrolytic capacitor bank, current & voltage sampling circuit, NTC temperature sensor, status LED array and aluminum heat sink.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects output short circuit, overcurrent, overvoltage, heatsink overtemperature and input under-voltage. Calibration relies on high-voltage DC meter and electronic load.

Installation

Cut off AC input power and discharge high-voltage DC capacitor before replacement. Confirm positive/negative polarity of output terminal, check cooling air flow, test no-load voltage and load stability after commissioning.

Diagnostic

No output: AC input missing, internal fuse blown, protection latch. Output unstable: Load over-limit, poor contact, cooling failure. Protection lock: Output short circuit, overvoltage, overtemperature.
