Module Feature

3BSE078766R1 is ABB DIS810 signal conditioning module of Select I/O family for System 800xA DCS.

Single channel 24VDC digital input, compatible with dry contact, proximity switches, 2-wire, 3-wire and external powered 4-wire field sensors. It supports SOE sequence of events high-precision time stamping, configurable signal filter from 0~100ms. Field power output limited to 30mA, channel galvanic isolation, supports hot swap and redundant channel configuration, with built-in field disconnect slider. It is plugged into TUS810 termination base, designed for general process control, widely stocked as maintenance spare for refinery, chemical plant and power plant instrument cabinet.

Working principle

The module detects on/off state signal from field contact or proximity sensor.

Internal circuit captures digital status and adds high-resolution timestamp for SOE event recording, transmits digital status and event data to 800xA controller via Modulebus. Continuous loop supervision monitors open circuit and short circuit of field wiring, and returns fault diagnostic information back to DCS. Field disconnect slider isolates field wiring safely for instrument maintenance without shutting down the rack.

Onboard components

Signal sampling circuit, SOE high precision timing unit, galvanic isolation barrier, Modulebus communication interface, 30mA current limiting circuit, configurable signal filter, field disconnect switch, status LED bank and compact plug-in PCB housing.

LED indicators

Front LEDs indicate power, run status, field loop fault, Modulebus communication and module health status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects input loop open/short, wiring fault, communication loss, internal power fault and hardware anomaly. Configuration and fault diagnosis are completed by ABB Control Builder M / 800xA engineering workplace.

Programming softwareControl Builder M, used for filter time setting, NO/NC mode selection, redundancy configuration and SOE event log reading.

Installation

Isolate field loop and Modulebus power before replacement.

Insert module into correct coded slot of MTU base, activate field disconnect slider before field wiring work, download I/O configuration, test switch status collection and SOE event recording function after commissioning.

Interface

Modulebus backplane interface, field terminal via FTB field terminal block for 24VDC digital input loop.

Diagnostic

Loop fault alarm: Field wire open, short circuit or sensor power abnormal. No status change: Sensor failure, wrong NO/NC configuration or filter setting too long. Module offline: MTU power loss, Modulebus failure or firmware version mismatch.
