Module Feature

509-EOD belongs to Bulletin 509 NEMA full voltage non-reversing starter manufactured by Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation). NEMA Size4 open type assembly,control coil rated 115~120V,60Hz. It is equipped with eutectic alloy thermal overload relay for motor overcurrent protection. Integrated auxiliary contacts for PLC status feedback and control interlock. High current capacity heavy-duty design for large squirrel cage induction motor direct starting. Widely used for large fans,water pumps,conveyors and heavy process automation equipment.

Working principle

When the control coil is energized,the main contactor closes and full three-phase mains voltage is applied directly to motor terminals. The eutectic alloy overload relay continuously monitors motor current. Once overload occurs,the alloy melts and trips contactor to cut off motor power. Auxiliary contacts output running and fault status signals to external control system.

Installation

Follow strict ESD safety procedure before handling.Mount base plate firmly inside control cabinet.Connect three-phase main power and motor cables to main power terminals.Wire control circuit to coil and auxiliary contacts.Set overload relay trip current matching motor FLA before commissioning.

Diagnostic
