Module Feature

2711P-RDT12H is the 12.1-inch display terminal for Rockwell Automation PanelView Plus modular HMI series.

It is a standalone display part, needs to be matched with corresponding logic module (2711P-RP series). Color TFT LCD, resistive touch panel, support front panel IP65 protection when installed correctly. The front panel has function keys, touch input area, status indicators and USB port. It communicates with the logic core via internal high-speed interface. This is a widely used legacy HMI spare for packaging machine, conveyor, water treatment and process MCC control room.

Working principle

The logic module transmits picture data and touch command exchange signal to this display unit.

LCD drive circuit renders HMI screen pages, touch controller captures coordinate signal when operator touches screen, then sends touch event back to logic module to trigger button action. Front USB can be used for program backup, log export and firmware upgrade.

Onboard components

12.1 inch TFT LCD panel, resistive touch sensor, display drive board, touch controller, front membrane keys, status LED, USB socket, internal backplane connector and sealed front frame.

LED indicators

Power LED and communication status LED on front panel.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in self-check for backlight, touch circuit and communication link to logic module. Touch calibration function is built in the HMI system. Configuration and screen project download are completed by Rockwell FactoryTalk View ME software.

Installation

Cut off HMI power supply before replacement. Align locking clips, connect internal ribbon/backplane connector to logic module, seal front gasket, complete touch calibration and test screen display and touch response after commissioning.

Interface

Internal interface connector to logic module, front USB port.

Diagnostic

No display: Backlight failure, loose internal connector, logic module fault. Touch drift / no touch response: Touch panel damage, calibration lost. Flickering screen: Drive board fault, poor contact.
