Module Feature

116-5861-011 is Autronica 601FEX-M infrared flame detector for fire and security system.

It adopts multi-spectrum infrared sensing principle, strong anti-interference ability to oil mist, steam and sunlight, very suitable for ship engine room, offshore platform and oil & gas hazardous area. It is intrinsically safe Ex ia IIC T4 design, needs to match safety barrier or isolator. Metal explosion-proof housing, M25 cable entry, compatible with Autronica BS-200 / AutroSafe fire alarm panel. This model is widely used as spare for marine and offshore fire protection system.

Working principle

The infrared sensor monitors the characteristic infrared radiation spectrum generated by flame combustion.

When flame signal meets the internal judgment threshold, the detector sends alarm signal to fire control panel. Built-in optical self-check circuit regularly checks the lens and sensor health, and triggers fault alarm if pollution or failure is detected.

Onboard components

IR optical sensing assembly, signal conditioning PCB, intrinsic safety protection circuit, stainless steel protective window, metal enclosure, M25 cable gland interface, terminal block.

LED indicators

Front LED indicates normal standby, flame alarm and hardware fault status.

Hardware self‑diagnosis

Built-in supervision detects lens contamination, sensor failure, power loss and internal circuit error. Fault signal is transmitted to fire host panel.

Programming software

Autronica Fire configuration software, used for detector sensitivity setting, zone mapping and fault log reading.

Connect wiring through approved safety barrier, align detection window towards protected risk area, complete sensitivity test after commissioning.

Diagnostic

Continuous fault alarm: Lens covered by oil dirt, window scratched or sensor damaged. No flame response: Wrong installation angle, sensitivity setting too low or barrier wiring error. False alarm: Strong infrared heat source interference nearby.
