System compatibility

1000BASE-LX is Extreme original gigabit SFP transceiver. Compatible with Extreme Summit X440, X450a, VSP series switches equipped with SFP slots. Supports DDM real-time monitoring of optical power, temperature and supply voltage. Widely used for long-distance single-mode fiber interconnection for enterprise campus building cross-floor and factory wide-area gigabit links.

Function

1000BASE-LX converts 1G electrical signal into optical signal for single-mode fiber transmission. DDM function can read transceiver working parameters in real time. It is used for 10km gigabit point-to-point singlemode fiber connection in local area network. When used on multimode fiber, mode conditioning patch cord is required.

Installation

Wear ESD anti-static wrist strap. Insert the SFP module fully into the SFP port of switch. Connect LC singlemode fiber patch cord. Power on the equipment, verify module identification, DDM optical power reading and link status via switch CLI before commissioning.
