System compatibility

40G-LR4-QSFP10 is Extreme original 40G QSFP+ singlemode transceiver. Compatible with Extreme Summit and VSP series switches equipped with QSFP+ slots. Supports DOM real-time monitoring of optical power, temperature, supply voltage and laser bias current. Widely used for data center aggregation and enterprise 40G cross-building backbone singlemode fiber links.

Function

40G-LR4-QSFP10 uses four LAN-WDM wavelengths to transmit four 10G channels on one pair of singlemode fiber, aggregating to 40G bandwidth. DOM function can read transceiver working parameters in real time. This module is used for 10km 40G point-to-point singlemode fiber interconnection between core and aggregation switches.

Installation

Wear ESD anti-static wrist strap. Insert the QSFP+ module fully into the QSFP+ port of switch. Connect dual LC singlemode fiber patch cords. Power on the equipment, verify module identification, DOM optical power reading and link status via switch CLI before commissioning.
