System compatibility

FTL4C3QE1C-EX is EX variant pre-coded for Extreme Networks equipment. Works on Extreme switches/routers with QSFP+ ports, including SLX9850, Summit X670V, X670-G2 series. It is a universal dual-fiber 40G module, no MPO ribbon cable required.

Function

FTL4C3QE1C-EX is 40GBASE-LM4 universal QSFP+ transceiver. It uses four CWDM 10G lanes over one pair of duplex LC fiber. It can run on multimode fiber for medium short rack links or single-mode fiber up to 1km for building interconnection. Simplifies cabling compared with SR4 MPO ribbon, widely used for leaf-spine 40G uplink.

Installation

Insert QSFP+ module into QSFP+ port until latch locks. Connect duplex LC fiber patch cord. Verify module recognition and link status via ExtremeXOS/SLX-OS CLI. Check fiber polarity and end-face cleanliness.
